Eligibility

The Women in Construction Rising Star Scholarship will be awarded to a female student who is a rising high school senior entering a community college program or skilled trades program (such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.) within the Cape Fear region, with a focus on the residential construction industry.

Students must be planning to enroll as a full-time student.

Scholarship Purpose

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to female students who are pursuing a career in the construction industry. By offering this scholarship, we aim to alleviate the financial burden of higher education and empower female students to achieve their educational and professional goals in the construction field. This scholarship seeks to recognize and reward female students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential in the construction field.

Additionally, it aims to encourage female students to contribute positively to their communities and the construction industry by fostering a new generation of skilled and dedicated professionals.

Length of Time

Scholarships are awarded for one academic semester per school year.

What is the Cape Fear PWB Council?

The Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council is the voice of women in the building industry. This council is dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting their members at the local, state and national levels by offering networking and educational opportunities, legislative awareness, outreach, and professional and personal development.
